Pulleys

A pulley is a wheel with a groove or rim on its circumference that is used to accommodate a belt from an electric motor. Pulleys are designed to transfer loads from one shaft to another by the use  of a belt. Two pulleys connected by a belt and fixed to the shafts constitute a belt transmission. The advantage is the reduced vibration and the ability to transmit torque over long distances.
